Another big change in map updates is that more of them are free.

This is good for a majority of time, but what if you want to drive further afield?

If you've purchased a map update or lifetime membership from Garmin, you can download map updates through the Garmin Express program.

If you prefer your maps free, you can use open source maps from Open Street Map.
